About the audiobooks, I’m sorry but I’m not a fan of them, so I cannot give any opinion in respect to your question, Joshua. I get distracted every time I try to listen to an audiobook.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to to the sample and the AI is good. I could have listened to the whole book. I have been having challenges with my sight, so I spend a lot of time listening to books, hopefully soon in the near future you will be able to offer your readers a choice to read or listen to all your books, otherwise keep up the excellent writing!
My apologies to Ms. McKarney, but it was quite easy for me to detect that this was an AI Narrator. While the voice was pleasant and not a monotone, it did not have the capability of a trained, live narrator to inject inflection, tonal shifts, or other methods to differentiate the various speakers in a conversation. Everything was pretty much the same neutral, bland delivery. I found it nearly impossible to keep track of who was speaking during a back-and-forth dialogue. The storyline sounds intriguing, and I look forward to the book's release. As a book. :) Kindle would be OK, but a book. Thanks for being the kind of author who seeks out opportunities to receive input from your readers; it is rare, and appreciated.
WoW! It is hard to believe the reader is an AI. The diction, inflection, voices and reading style are spot on. Definitely not what I was expecting. I would listen to the whole book like this. And since I listen to most of my books I am pretty picky about sound and voice differentiation.

In my opinion the AI does a good narration of "Awakened". It grabbed my attention and I would have continued listening is the whole book was available.
I admire people who can do that, listen to audiobooks and DRIVE! Lol. I tried to listen and do some house chores, and every time I realised I’d stop doing what I was doing and only listening to the audiobook! I couldn’t listen and work at the same time! 😂

I have to admit I'm not a huge fan myself. The only time I listen to them is on long car rides, and I don't take those too often!

This would *definitely* struggle in a full cast situation. I agree dialog is the big weakness.
